Introduction:
Angkor Wat is an historical and old Hindu temples of Cambodia. It was called as kamboja desa in the 12th century. In the Indian system of music you will see there are two main branches

In this music forms you will find a raga or a scale with the name kamboja. Many of the raga/scales names are designed from the place of their origin. Similarly, we can see this style of naming found in color naming. For example; you would have heard of a color named brunt sienna, raw sienna. Actually in the olden days this color was brought from sienna, a place in Italy. If you use this color as it is with little chemical processing it is called raw sienna and if you burnt it and then us it , it is called burnt sienna.

Era:
This system of naming scales in the Indian music is found in the music history. The temples in this complex was built in the principles of Hindu tradition as mentioned in the Vedas. The temples was built in the 12th century by the king Suryavarman II . The initial name to this temples was not angkor but
Nakar which due to mispronunciation became Nakar → Nakar Nkor → Angkor and vat is vasthu in Sanskrit which means a thing. The has been changed from vasthu → vattu → vat
many Indian kings from Pala, Pallava and Chola helped in the construction of this temples. Of of the mysteries associated with this temples is that the temples were built with reference to the cosmos. A person standing east can see the sun rise and in the evening can see sun set. Not only this it is mentioned that Cambodia is the center of the universe. In the Indian cosmology there is a concept of Meru, which is a huge mountain. The main temple is built on this architecture of meru and you will see seven layers of land above which the main temple deity is installed.
Sculptures: The sculptures on the walls of this temple is delicately carved and most of them are in bricks. This is a real surprise.
